Q1:

What codecs are supported by KiSS DP-450 ?

 

A1:

All codecs that comply with the specifications of ISO-MPEG4 - Advanced,

Simple Profile, are supported by the DP-450. DivX 4.x and 5.x comply with

this standard, exept DivX 5.02 features- GMC (Global Motion Compensation)

and QP (Quarter Pexel) which are Advanced, Advanced Profile features.

 

Xvid 2.10 and Realmagic's RPM4 also complies with the supported standard.

 

Q2:

I'd like to know if your DVD player DP 450 is region free and/or macrovision

free ?

 

A2:

No, most certainly not.

KiSS DVD-Players are not without Macrovision protection and are always

region locked to a specific region.

 

Q3:

DP-450 is able to play DivX 4.x and 5.x, but what will happen when a new

version of DivX is released? Is it possible to upgrade the software to

support newer codecs ?

 

A3:

If a newer DivX codec is released, e.g. DivX 6.x, DP-450 will be able to

play it if the codec is ISO-MPEG4 - Advanced, Simple Profile compliant. A

codec needs to be made from the principles and specifications of ISO-MPEG4

Advanced, Simple Profile to function properly on the DP-450.

 

Q4:

What recordable media's are supported by KiSS DP-450 ?

 

A4:

CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW are supported by DP-450.

This means that DVD+R and DVD+RW are not supported.

 

Q6:

Where can I get more detailed information about

the player. I've already downloaded your PDF file, but

it doesn't tell much ?

 

A6:

You will for now be able to get much more detailed information by reading

this FAQ. You can also get extensive information by visiting

 

Q7:

Does your player fully support SVCD movies (mainly subtitles)?

What kind of subtitles does it supports in DivX files?

Is it upgradable?

 

A7:

The initial release of DP-450 will not support any subtitles on either SVCD

or DivX.

This feature will most likely be implemented in a later software release for

the player.

 

Q8:

The "Repeat Playback" function - will it allow a DVD, JPEG CD, etc. to

repeatedly replay?

 

A8:

There are features on the DP-450 which enables Repeat mode on all of the

above content.

 

Q9:

Is it possible to FF / FR (Fast Forward / Fast Reverse) through DivX films ?

 

A9:

No, but we have implemented a timesearch function, which allows you to jump

to a specific place in the film.

 

Q10:

In JPEG mode can it show the pictures in full screen mode ?

 

A10:

Yes, it does that automatically and digital zoom function is also available

with JPEG's.

 

Q11:

Does DP450 also support Mp3PRO?

 

 

A11:

No, MP3Pro is at this time not supported by DP-450.

 

Q12:

How do the discs have to be recorded for the player to play ?

 

A12:

All DivX and MP3 content should just be burned as a standard ISO9660 Data

CD. (Closed Disc)

 

Q13:

Does DP-450 play DivX with f.x MP3 and DivX audio?

 

A13:

 

Yes it does.

 

Q14:

Does DP-450 play media's with multiple DivX files ?

 

A14:

Yes it does.

 

 

 

 

Q15:

What dimensions does it play? like screens of 350 X 240, 720 X 640, etc ?

 

A15:

DP450 plays resolution up to PAL and NTSC standards upto 1.5 Mbit/s.

 

Q16:

Does DP-450 support MP3's with variable bitrate?

 

A16:

No, not at this moment.

 

Q17:

Which video outputs supports progressive scan ?

 

A17:

Component Scart (YpbPr) supports Progressive Scan in resolutions up to PAL &

NTSC standards.

 

Q18:

Is it possible to upgrade DP-450 software ?

 

A18:

Yes, software updates will be released on a regular basis on our website.

Updates will contain latest Bug-fixes and possibly extra features.

 

Q19:

Does DP-450 have a built-in AC3 decoder ?

 

A19:

No, but DP-450 outputs S/P-DIF raw for external AC3 / DTS decoding.

 

Q20:

Does DP-450 support ID3 tags ?

 

A20:

Yes.

 

Q21:

How do I know what codec my films are encoded in.

 

A21:

Use the setup button to display the version of DivX the film has been

encoded with.

 

Q22:

Is it possible to Fast Forward and Fast Reverse MP3 files ?

 

A22:

No, but it will be implemented in a later release.

 

Q23:

How do I make the update CD-R with newer firmware to update my DP-450 ?

 

A23:

You need burning software thats supports .ISO files.

This could be Nero Burning ROM v5.5+ or Easy CD Creator v4.0+

Please refer to your burning software manual on this matter.

 

Follow the standard guidelines for making an .ISO recording.

Naja copy and paste ist natürlich viel einfacher als übersetzen und neu schreiben.

 

Das lässt ja "hoffen" für eventuelle Anfragen beim Support...

 

Allerdings war dieses Problem auch schon in Entenhausen bekannt ;-):

Ich persönlich fordere gar nichts. Bin als PC-Techniker nix anderes gewohnt.

 

Aber das deutsche Recht will wohl dt. Support.

also muss jede Firma in Deutschland ein Support Forum in deutsch haben, sonst verstossen sie gegen deutsches Recht? Mit nichten! In Deutschland muss nur eine deutsche Bedienungsanleitung bei sein. (Form und Umfang ist fast frei wählbar)

P.S. Ich kenne sogar PC-Firmen die für Auskünfte 0190 haben/hatten...also dein Vergleich hinkt IMHO stark.

Hi,

 

natürlich hast du recht! Es ist "schwach". Aber was soll man noch alles machen?

 

Welcher DVD-Spieler Hersteller hat überhaupt ein Forum?

Welcher davon antwortet zeitnah bei speziellen Fragen auf Deutsch?

Wer stellt sich jeglicher Kritik und probiert alle Fragen aus, die noch offen sind?

 

Fordern ist OK absolut OK. Allerdings sollte man auch die Kirche im Dorf lassen.

P.S. Im übrigen kann jeder bestätige der einen DP 330 sein eigen nennt, das Support (siehe Update) definitiv nicht klein geschrieben wird. Denn nur ein zufriedener Kunde kommt wieder.
